Curated by Glassell’s Head of Ceramics Jeff Forster, “Naturalistic” is a selection of works that draw inspiration in some way from nature. While the tradition of Naturalism as an art movement is generally an imitation of nature or an attempt at Realism, the artists in this group use their creative freedoms to move away from this ideology. The result of this is a diverse grouping of objects related in a way through the handling of materials, allowing them to speak for themselves.
